Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 16, 2026
PDFKit is built on a zero-trust architecture: your files are processed entirely in your browser and never leave your device. This policy explains exactly what data is — and more importantly, what data is not — collected.
1. Your documents stay on your device
PDFKit is a client-side application. Every tool — merge, split, compress, convert, edit, protect, and more — processes your files entirely in your browser using WebAssembly and Web Workers. Your documents are never uploaded to any server, never stored in the cloud, and never transmitted over the network.
2. No accounts, no personal data
PDFKit does not require an account, email address, or any personal information. There is no user database, no session tracking, and no profile system. We simply have nothing to identify you with.
3. Privacy-friendly analytics
PDFKit uses Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate usage of the site — for example, which pages are visited and from which approximate region. This analytics service sets no cookies, collects no personal data, and does not track you across other websites. Your documents are never part of any analytics data.
4. Local storage (IndexedDB)
Some features may use your browser's IndexedDB to store files or settings locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is never synced to any server. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
5. Advertising
PDFKit tools are ad-free. If advertising is introduced in the future, it will be limited to a single ad slot on the final download step only — never on the tools themselves, never on file upload, and never involving your documents. Any future advertising will comply with this policy and applicable privacy regulations.
6. Cookies
PDFKit sets no tracking cookies and no advertising cookies. The site may use strictly necessary storage for functionality (such as local preferences), which never leaves your device.
7. Third-party services
The site is hosted on Vercel, which may process standard server logs (such as IP addresses and request metadata) for security and operational purposes. This is infrastructure-level data and is not used to identify or profile individual users.
8. Children's privacy
PDFKit does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Because the service requires no accounts and collects no personal data, there is nothing to collect from any user, regardless of age.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Significant changes will be highlighted where possible.
